360 | Revolve60

Just over a decade after the original Revolve upended the industry by elevating what a wall tap could be, it was time to go back to drawing board, take the lessons we’d learned and attempt to improve upon a modern classic.

This was the first project I developed with 360 back when they were a client of mine.
At the time, almost all wall taps were designed solely with ease of manufacture in mind, with little concern given for the people using them.
I wanted to create a product that respected the importance of home environments, one that could sit elegantly in view rather than hidden from sight.
Years later, it's still enjoyable to see the clear impact this one product's design had on an entire market.
As successful as this design was for 360, there are always things that you immediately want to improve upon.
By wrapping the form along the sides instead of the ends, we added more room for USB power plus added an integrated charging shelf.
The Revolve 60 is the most powerful USB-C wall tap on the market today with enough wattage to power a laptop and phone at the same time.
I took inspiration from automotive interiors to design outlets that telegraph their rotating feature better, as well as hidden LEDS that cast light down creating a soft glow rather than a bright, intrusive glare.
